In a better world this would be a route around the back of the car park from Ruthin Gaol.
In a better world there would be a dropped kerb here and this would be a route around the back of the car park to Ruthin Gaol, not a dead end.

Road closure, to keep trucks off a residential street - it would be nice if it could be properly marked as a cycle route.
No Motor Vehicles Except For Access on this route to the centre of Ruthin
More parking at the Ruthin Craft Centre - what a shame it's so rubbish.
Just out of sight is a No Motor Vehicles sign, but there's no reason to stop cyclists coming this way (even though they probably won't manage to cycle up the very steep narrow lane).
Barrier to cycling via this car park in Llangollen
SK Cycles in Llangollen is now Llan Velo
Cycle route on the old road to Ruthin.
This road closure should be adapted as a cycle route to a decent crossing at the roundabout.
This is astonishing - an ideal cycle route right next to a primary school, and someone has decided to ban cycling (the sign is unenforceable anyway, but that's another matter).
Denbigh Leisure Centre - lots of car parking, no visible cycle parking
Denbigh Leisure Centre - lots of car parking, a tiny number of cycle stands tucked away at the rear.
Denbigh Leisure Centre - lots of car parking, no visible cycle parking
It'd be nice if there was a decent cycle link along the old railway route when they're finished.
There's scope for a pleasant cycle route here around Denbigh
If they had to close this lay-by, couldn't they do something useful with it, such as putting in cycle stands, rather than just another row of bollards?

I think this is going to be a new supermarket - I hope they will fund a decent bit of cycleway along the A5 here.
It's not a compulsory left turn here, it's perfectly possible to go straight ahead - potentially useful for cyclists heading out of Llangollen.
Cyclists please dismount sign at the Wharf café, Llangollen
There really are horse-drawn boats on this stretch of the Llangollen Canal.
No cycle stands at the Horseshoe Falls car park.

Delightful back road to Llangollen
Bike at this steam railway station, preserved in period style.
There really should be an off-road route alongside the A5 (unusually quiet here) - there are too many twigs and branches on the footway to use it as it is.
Cycle parking (sort of) at the new Corwen Museum
Cut-through to bus and rail stations, Corwen
Pedestrian access only to Llangar church ? - there's no reason not to take a bike down this lane.
The Cyclestreets routeplanner suggested I went this way - unfortunately it leads to a ford across the Dee, which was particularly high at the time.
Delightful quiet lanes west of the Clwydian Hills.

Ruthin Gaol (museum) - they don't want bikes and they don't provide bike parking.
Cycle parking kindly provided where it's actually no use to anyone.
Cycle parking at entrance to park (which is a dead-end so this wide path is no use to cyclists).
This road closure could be improved as a cycle cut-through.
No idea why the road to the right is deemed unsuitable for motor vehicles - it's a perfectly normal road with plenty of houses along it, and also the direct route to Ruthin.
